Meet the latest addition to Simple Well Being Offers

Over the years I have come across numerous products that seemed to support the work I do with my clients as a Nutrition and Wellness Coach. However, I was always reluctant to endorse them or carry them in my practice. I have considered recommending some, but never felt fully aligned with one that I could authentically recommend. I wanted a product  that had a high degree of integrity. I have been looking for the following in a product or a line of products:

1. clean and high quality ingredients (no toxic, harmful or sub par ingredients)

2. broad application instead of a single product for a very specific condition

3. reasonable and affordable price point

4. solid personal experience with them; leading me to feel compelled to share with friends, family and clients.

Some of the products I have evaluated and tried met a few of these criteria, but I had yet to find one that met all …until I stumbled upon it.

I had been on the journey of continuing to broaden the concept of living clean by minimizing my own and my family’s exposure to toxic chemicals. I had gradually been switching out my personal care and cleaning products, such as dish washer detergent (do you know how toxic it is!?), laundry detergent, soaps, lotions, etc. Along the way, I kept hearing a great deal about essential oils and all their wonderful properties. I had certainly smelled their aroma and enjoyed it. But the idea that an oil could truly enhance my well being in so many ways had me intrigued.

Last spring, I finally decided to give the oils a go. I personally wanted to learn how essential oils would benefit both myself and my family.

The world of essential oils is vast so I had a lot to learn. Luckily, the essential oils company I chose, doTERRA, has amazing resources for all the ways to use the essential oils and that got me up to speed pretty quickly. In addition, I have a network of fellow wellness educators who have helped guide me.

I began reading and experimenting with some basic single oils, such as, lemon (in my water and smoothies or diffused aromatically to freshen the air), lavender (for relaxation and to numb the pain from a burn) and peppermint oil (for energy and focus).

I soon was curious to expand to additional oils and oil blends (such as Serenity for relaxation & sleep, Deep Blue for sore muscles, Breathe for respiratory health, OnGuard for Immune support etc) as well as, personal care products with oils in them (laundry detergent, facial lotions, tooth paste, supplements etc).

I was blown away at the effectiveness of the essential oils. Not only have I been able to use the oils to make my own simple cleaning products, but I also discovered that essential oils have so many more uses than I ever thought.

I am now using them in my drinks and food, my family’s first aid kit, oral care, hormone balancing and mood management. And when I licked a cold in 36 hrs at Christmas time using Oregano, Breathe, and OnGuard oils and repeatedly helped my son’s tummy ache with Digestzen oil, I realized that by not sharing all the goodness of essential oils with my clients and friends I’d be doing them a disservice.

In fact, many of you have been asking me about the oils, and the best way to really begin learning about them is to come to a class. See first invite below.

In addition, from now on, I’ll blog regularly about my favorite oils, how I am using them and how you can benefit from them too.
